If you choose to use an email address and user name that have not been used for bicycle-related activity and are not otherwise obviously associated with the local area, this may keep your request from being approved. Due to the constant attempts of spammer exploits to gain forum membership, all requests are screened against a list of known spammers. Known spammers are silently rejected.

If the spammer check comes up clear, the address and ID are checked in Google. If the requester is unknown to Google or turns up with nothing related to bicycles or the local area, the request is likely to be held for rechecking later. There are over a dozen requests currently in that state dating back into May 2009.

Kathi and I are riding from our home for our February (the first one, at least) ride to Stub Stuart State Park. Looking at a 10 am departure from here, 10:30 from the Safeway at Cornell and Murray. Not that it takes 30 minutes to get down there, but this IS RST, after all.  Grin

The route will follow Evergreen past the Hillsboro airport, through Roy and Banks. The exact route between Hillsboro and Roy will depend on some web research tonight regarding the bridge on Scotch Church, which was closed a few weeks ago. We pick up the State Trail just north of Banks and follow it to Stub Stuart. There shouldn't be any problem with black ice on the trail or the curve below the ranger station at the park, unlike our last ride when we went up that far.

We normally stop at the Subway in Banks on the return for refreshment. Anyone interested in joining us to enjoy the forecast spot of good February weather?

I did not find anything about a bridge closure on the Washington County web site, so I guess we have our choice of going that way or through Hillsboro and inspecting the new section of highway that should have been completed north of Cornelius a week ago.

What I DID stumble across was very interesting - I discovered that the bid opening is due this coming week for THIS project:

Banks/Vernonia Trail Extension

Project Timeline
Project start date: 05/01/2007
Construction start date: 06/01/2010
Estimated completion date: 11/01/2010

We have been waiting a looooong time for this one!!  Glad to see it should finally happen this year.   Grin
