Well, I'm as ready as I can be for this next weekend. That is, except for getting a hitch installed on my car so I can trailer the Quest. The hitch arrived today, hopefully can get it on this next week.

Hey - I'll be there just to see the Quest go by in a cloud of rain spray. If Ian is making the trip from distance unknown - hey I can get my lazy behind out of bed to ride in the rain with him Todd are you going

I'll welcome the camraderie, Lonnie. But be warned, its not a sure thing for me, yet. Working right now on getting the hitch installed on the car. Though I've got today, tomorrow night, and all day Friday; so I'm fairly confident it will be completed.
And c'mon... no rain. No rain!!!
(its 37F, raining, and a light breeze here today. not so nice)

Two days to departure. I've got the wiring about half done, but haven't been able to pull the rear bumper off. Getting rather frustrating. Stopping by to see my friend/mechanic tonight for some assistance.

I'll be there. The weather looks fantastic. Should be a fast run.

Gads, I'm tired of emotional rollercoasters. Got the bumper off this afternoon. Felt great. Could see progress, and have all day Friday to put it back together. Working on it tonight, and... Wrong hitch. Won't fit. So... not very likely to get the Quest down there. At this point, not sure what I'm gonna do for the weekend. What worries me even more is that it took two months to get this hitch. PIR is only two months out.

I agree. The predictions are looking fantastic. We'll see if they come true. : Assuming the recumbent category starts off first (10AM or so), who would be interested in a casual ride? Maybe we could refuel in beautiful downtown Estacada and do an easy 20 mile ride afterward. Anybody got suggestions? I'm not familiar with the roads in the area.

Once again, I can't make it. Gotta work this weekend. I was told last night at work that the weather is suppose to be nice or was that nicer.
Hope everyone has fun.

Further update:
Looks like I will be making it down. With the Quest. Been doing some serious internal mods on the bumper, but looks like it'll fit. Before that though, I've gotta figure out my wiring first. Got tail lights, but nothing else. Most likely will just drive the car with the hitch mounted, no rear bumper. Damn ugly, but it'll work.

Alex and I are signed up. Alex will be riding a rather strange sort of contraption. You sort of sit on top of it. Kinda hard to describe. I think some people in OHPV call them "uprights". Very odd and dangerous looking if you ask me.
I of course will be on my more normal Stiletto.
We've never done Estacada before. It says on the website that the first racers start at 10:00. They don't have a race order or sart time list posted anywhere I can see. At least not yet. Does anybody out there know the order? Do they send off recumbents first?

I'm pretty sure the recumbents will be the first or second group to leave. I think they let the tandems go first in order to let the riders separate and ride singles. The start order gets published on the OBRA list: http://app.obra.org/posts/obra/2009/4 but it appears Geri is still putting it together: http://app.obra.org/posts/obra/show/52496

A'right... so I haven't signed up yet. What with not knowing if I'll make it or not. If the recumbents are going first, do they leave a time gap between classes, or just fill in at the end of the class for morning registration folks? The listed start time would then be the 'earliest' start a person would get. I'd rather not have all the pre-reg recumbents go, and then have to wait around towards the end of the day for being a day-of registrant.
