Due to the constant attempts of spammer exploits to gain forum membership, all requests are screened against a list of known spammers. Known spammers are silently rejected. If the spammer check comes up clear, the address and ID are checked in Google. If the requester is unknown to Google or turns up with nothing related to bicycles or the local area, the request is likely to be held for rechecking later. There are over a dozen requests currently in that state dating back into May 2009. |
