From the Gateway MAX parking lot: Exit going south on 99th Ave. Cross Glisan. At Burnside, cross the street (and MAX tracks) and head west *ON THE SIDEWALK* (this actually turns into the bike path) After you cross I-205, turn left with the bike path. Continue south on the bike path for 3 miles. Caution: you'll cross a couple large streets- watch for traffic. Continue on bike path South for 3 miles until: Springwater Corridor trail and turn left (East) (watch it- intersection is not well marked) Go 5 miles - watch for fowl in Johnson Creek and sheep along the path. Exit at Gresham City Park (at the baseball diamond) Turn left (North) through parking lot and downtown. Then right (East) onto Fifth St. Turn left (North) on Cleveland Ave. Slug riders may stop here and hop on the MAX to return to Gateway. Others continue North on Cleveland Ave. Right at Stark St. At 257th you can turn left and descend into Troutdale (it's a longggg downhill, with a right turn at the bottom) or continue straight on Stark and descend to the Old Columbia River Highway. We regroup at the Troutdale General Store (good eats, good coffee) at 289 E. Historic Columbia River Highway. When finished, go to 257th Rd. & continue north under the freeway and continue straight onto Graham Rd. around Troutdale Airport and turn left onto Sundial Rd. then turn right on Marine Dr. Continue on Marine Dr. for 6 miles- there's a bike path that parallels Marine Dr. if you want to get away from traffic. Turn left onto I-205 bike path (entrance is on the left, just before the I-205 underpass) Bike path follows sidewalk in front of the Travelodge. Bike path continues south through the Parkrose MAX station, then under, over, and beside the roads until you get back to Gateway MAX.
